About the Program

Pro Bono Students Canada was launched from U of T’s Faculty of Law in the fall of 1996.  PBSC Toronto has responded to demands of the community by developing a summer placement programme and by instituting the Family Law Project, the Not-for-Profit Corporate Law Project and the Wills Clinic in addition to its Community Placement Program.

We are working to maximize the value of the pro bono experience for both students and organizations by offering inspirational and informative events and by improving monitoring procedures. Our hope is that these changes will help to build a stronger pro bono ethic in the Toronto legal community.

PBSC Toronto is generously funded by the Law Foundation of Ontario and their law school, in addition to the funds provided by Legal Aid Ontario for the Family Law Project during the summer months.
