Justice Rosalie Abella

Pro Bono Students Canada is thrilled to announce that Justice Rosalie Abella of the Supreme Court of Canada will deliver a lecture at the PBSC National Training Conference on Thursday June 2, 2011, titled “And Justice For All…”.  Justice Abella will be discussing the ongoing importance of pro bono lawyering in Canada and the urgent need to expose law students to the pro bono ethic.

The conference, held in Toronto from June 2-5, marks PBSC’s 15th year of increasing access to justice across the country.

In honour of the occasion, Justice Abella will be joined by a number of distinguished guests. Ronald Daniels, former dean of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and current president of the Johns Hopkins University, will receive an inaugural PBSC supporter award, to celebrate his vision in founding PBSC. Justice Harvey Brownstone, who inspired the creation of the Family Law Project and continues to guide PBSC programs across the country, will be thanked for his exceptional and tireless support.
