PROGRAM COORDINATORS

 

Program Coordinators (PCs) are law student leaders of our 22 Chapters who work closely with local community organizations to develop impactful volunteer placements that increase access to justice, while also recruiting, training, and supporting their peers to engage in these placements under the supervision of pro bono lawyers or notaries. â€‹

Hifza Hussain is a second-year law student at the University of Victoria, Faculty of Law. She recently completed her 2L with a clinical term at the UVic Law Centre, where she worked to provide accessible legal support across areas including tenancy, family, and criminal law. Hifza is passionate about advancing equity in the legal system and supporting underserved communities. During her 1L, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada on a tenancy rights project, developing public legal education materials. She brings a strong commitment to community engagement and social justice to her continued involvement with PBSC.

Christina is an incoming 4L in the dual JD/JID program at the University of Victoria. She serves a student mentor at First Peoples House and is a Councillor on UVic’s Native Student Union. As an Indigenous Student Advisor with the Residence Life & Education Department, she supports students by fostering positive relationships and connecting them with resources and campus supports. With over five years of experience in administration and event coordination in the non-profit sector, Christina is excited to return to PBSC as a Student Coordinator.

 Sarah Holman is an incoming 2L at Thompson Rivers University Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, Sarah worked with a non-profit organization near Kelowna supporting vulnerable populations, with a focus on assisting family caregivers of individuals living with dementia. During her 1L year, Sarah volunteered with PBSC, contributing to a project that developed accessible resources on Medical Assistance in Dying for a Kamloops-based non-profit. Sarah looks forward to supporting future student volunteers in placements that had a meaningful impact on her own law school experience, and is grateful to be a part of the TRU PBSC Chapter.

Anna Shaffer is an incoming 3L at Thompson Rivers University Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in French and English, with her courses primarily focusing on representations of women and minorities in literature. Anna is very passionate about furthering access to justice, and she is looking forward to contributing to PBSC’s mission as a Program Coordinator for her second year.

Pavneet Badhan is a 3L student at the Peter A. Allard School of Law. She began her academic journey at the University of British Columbia, where she earned a Bachelor of Science with distinction in Integrated Science. For the past two years, Pavneet has dedicated herself to PBSC by working with a non-profit organization that provides free legal services to migrant workers. She has also volunteered for the Legal Education Outreach program at Allard, presenting legal education workshops at high schools across the Lower Mainland. In her free time, Pavneet enjoys watching sports, running, and hanging out with friends.

She has learned to consistently assess how her learning can be used to uplift others and improve the human condition. Believing the pursuit of knowledge cannot be separated from service, and having already experienced the profound impact of pro bono advocacy, Alida looks forward to encouraging her peers to connect their own legal education to community service through PBSC.

Alexis is an incoming second-year student at the University of Calgary. She holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Alberta, where she served as a peer reviewer for the Political Science Undergraduate Review Journal. With a particular interest in developing her advocacy skills in community-based legal work, during her first year she served as a student caseworker with the University of Calgary’s Student Legal Assistance and volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada. Outside of her work and studies, Alexis has a strong connection to the performing arts, never missing an opportunity to attend a live music or theatre performance. She is also actively involved in the Ukrainian-Canadian community through Ukrainian dance and volunteerism.

Kelvin Ng

University of Calgary

Kelvin Ng is an incoming 2L at the University of Calgary. Prior to law school, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Law and Society at the University of British Columbia, where he was involved in social psychology and environmental policy research. During 1L, Kelvin completed his PBSC placement with the Hearsay Podcast as Project Lead, managing relationships with partner organizations, supervising lawyers, and volunteers, while producing a podcast on the CRA’s expanded audit powers. He is active in the Student Law Society’s Wellbeing Committee and the IP Law Club, and is passionate about advancing access to justice.

Lindsay is entering her second year of Law School at the University of Saskatchewan. She studied political science, philosophy and economics at the University of Regina prior to relocating to Saskatoon. Lindsay is a competitive Artistic Swimming coach, and is passionate about the value of sport for young people and access to sport for all. In her free time, Lindsay enjoys reading, swimming, and spending time with dogs. Passionate about access to justice, Lindsay is excited to grow the PBSC community in Saskatchewan and make a difference in our community.

Dallas Gillingham is a 2027 J.D. Candidate and returning PBSC Student Coordinator for the University of Manitoba Chapter. They hold a B.A. Honours in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Winnipeg where they also worked as a research coordinator and research assistant. Outside of their legal studies, Dallas engages in community organizing and advocacy with the Sex Workers of Winnipeg Action Coalition and the Canadian Alliance for Sex Work Law Reform. Dallas is deeply committed to increasing access to justice for people made vulnerable by systemic discrimination and is excited to support students in their Pro Bono placements.

Noah Kornelsen is an incoming 2L student at the University of Manitoba. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Winnipeg in 2025. Before starting law school, Noah was heavily involved with community-based organizations in Winnipeg’s inner city, working to address poverty, food security, and barriers to legal representation. Noah has a strong presence in student life on campus, holding executive roles in numerous student groups and clubs. He is thrilled to represent PBSC in supporting students and organizations working to increase access to justice in Manitoba.

Amanda Farina is an incoming 2L at the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at Wilfrid Laurier University prior to law school. Throughout her 1L year, Amanda volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada through a placement with Legal Advocates of Nature Defence (LAND), deepening her commitment to access to justice. She is actively involved in student life at Bora Laskin, participating in a variety of clubs and intramurals. Amanda is deeply passionate about PBSC's mission and is thrilled to step into the Program Coordinator role, where she can inspire her peers to engage in meaningful work that makes a real difference.

Georgia Kapetaneas is an incoming 2L at the University of Windsor. Prior to law school, she completed her Bachelor of Applied Science in Justice Studies and an advanced diploma in community legal services. She also worked as a bail supervisor in downtown Toronto for 4 years. As a 1L, she volunteered at a local women's crisis shelter and at Community Legal Aid, where she provided free legal services to low-income residents of Windsor, covering a wide array of legal issues. Georgia is extremely passionate about furthering access to justice, especially for those experiencing major mental illness, addictions, and homelessness. She is ecstatic about her position as a PBSC Program Coordinator and looks forward to using her skills to contribute to PBSC's mission.

​Elan is an incoming 3L Dual JD student at Windsor Law and the University of Detroit Mercy and a returning PBSC Program Coordinator. Before law school, he attended the University of Guelph, where he was very involved in his campus community. Elan graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering and a certificate in business. He is looking forward to applying his passion for community involvement and past project management experience to make a meaningful impact in his new home away from home with PBSC. Outside of school, you can find Elan on game days during the season cheering on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.

​Sebastian Lee is an incoming 2L student who is passionate about promoting equitable access to justice. Last year, he volunteered with PBSC and helped develop public legal education sessions and client intake sessions. Prior to law school, he completed his MSc in Genetics and later pivoted to law after working at a law firm. This experience deepened his commitment to access to justice as the firm frequently helped low-income clients navigate the legal system.

Before law school, he attended Western University where he received an Honours Specialization degree in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences. In 1L, he completed a PBSC volunteer placement at Kensington Bellwoods Community Legal Services, where he conducted client intake for individuals seeking help with housing, immigration, and social assistance matters. He also competed in the Baby Gale Moot as part of Lincoln Alexander Law School’s inaugural team. In his free time, Owen enjoys playing music with his friends and family, cycling around Toronto, and playing pick-up basketball.

Through these experiences, she has developed a strong commitment to giving back and is using her legal education to advance access to justice. Outside of law, she enjoys travelling, film, fashion, music, and collecting vinyl records. Her interest in access to justice stems from her engagement with historical inequities and was further developed while completing an Accelerated Law Clerk diploma at Seneca Polytechnic. In 1L, she served as Project Lead for PBSC’s Compliance in Digital Marketing Project. She is passionate about facilitating free legal education in Kingston and surrounding communities, and is the proud mother of her one-eyed rescue cat, Bandit.

Je m’appelle Lynn-Aelle et j’entamerai ma troisième année en droit à l’université d’Ottawa. Au cours de mon parcours académique, j’ai développé un intérêt particulier pour les enjeux géopolitiques et économiques, ainsi que pour les droits humains. Ces réflexions ont nourri ma conviction que le droit constitue un levier essentiel pour répondre aux défis contemporains. Tout au long de mes études, je me suis engagée auprès de diverses initiatives à but non lucratif. J’ai notamment été bénévole pendant deux ans avec Étudiant(e)s Pro Bono du Canada, en collaboration avec la Clinique de droit notarial de l’Outaouais et Info Justice Côte-Nord. Animée par un fort intérêt pour l’accès à la justice, je poursuis avec enthousiasme cet engagement à titre de coordonnatrice de programme.

Très investie dans la vie étudiante, elle se distingue par sa passion pour le débat et l’art oratoire, forgée par son engagement au sein du Comité Débat ainsi qu'au fil de plusieurs concours. Pour elle, le droit est avant tout une discipline humaine. Guidée par des valeurs d'équité et par un sens aigu de l’initiative, elle croit fermement que les futurs juristes ont la responsabilité de servir les communautés vulnérables. Son implication auprès de la Clinique d’information juridique du Y des femmes lui a permis de constater que le droit est un vecteur de transformation des inégalités sociales. Ayant à cœur la transmission du savoir, elle a coordonné et présenté avec dynamisme des ateliers juridiques au sein de cégeps. Elle entreprend avec confiance son mandat de coordonnatrice de programme, avec l’espoir et la détermination de faire la différence dans nos communautés. Dans ses temps libres, elle aime faire de longues marches, peindre et explorer la mode vintage.

Manisha est actuellement étudiante en deuxième année du baccalauréat en droit à l’Université de Montréal, ainsi que titulaire d’un baccalauréat en commerce avec une mineure en études féministes de l’Université McGill. Elle s’intéresse particulièrement aux enjeux de justice sociale, et surtout à l’accès à la justice. Son parcours est marqué par un engagement soutenu auprès de sa communauté, notamment à travers son implication au sein d’un organisme à but non lucratif offrant des programmes de loisirs aux enfants autistes, ainsi qu’avec EPBC en tant que bénévole au projet Immigration et Réfugiés. Passionnée par l’impact du droit comme outil de changement social, elle souhaite mobiliser ses compétences au service d’EPBC afin de contribuer concrètement à l’amélioration de l’accès à la justice.

​Étudiant en droit engagé, Colin s’implique activement pour renforcer l’accès à la justice et rapprocher le droit des réalités sociales. Il en sera à sa deuxième année à la coordination de la section uqamienne d’EPBC, en plus d’une année comme étudiant bénévole. Ses intérêts portent sur les enjeux sociojuridiques, notamment l’utilisation du droit comme mesure de contrôle social, la psychiatrie légale et les libertés fondamentales.

Tricia termine sa première année au baccalauréat en droit à l'Université de Québec à Montréal. C’est avec enthousiasme qu’elle occupera le poste de coordinatrice pour l’année 2026-2027 Intéressée par l’accès à la justice et par les réalités vécues par les personnes en situation de vulnérabilité, elle s’implique comme bénévole auprès de la Clinique juridique itinérante. Cet engagement lui permet de développer son écoute, sa rigueur et sa sensibilité aux enjeux juridiques concrets. Elle souhaite contribuer activement à la mission de l’organisme et participer à la promotion d’une justice plus humaine, accessible et adaptée aux besoins de la communauté.

Sophia Lifi

 Université de Sherbrooke

Sophia est étudiante en droit à l’Université de Sherbrooke et entamera une maîtrise en droit international et politique internationale appliqués (LL.M.) à la suite de son baccalauréat. Elle s’intéresse particulièrement aux enjeux d’accès à la justice et aux mécanismes permettant de rendre le droit plus accessible aux justiciables. Au cours de son parcours, elle a été coordonnatrice du comité Accès à la justice, où elle a piloté des initiatives de sensibilisation, organisé des événements et développé des collaborations avec des organismes. Elle s’est également impliquée au sein d’EPBC, contribuant à des travaux de recherche juridique et de vulgarisation. Son expérience en pratique notariale, ainsi que son stage en droit de la famille, lui ont permis de développer une approche rigoureuse et humaine, ancrée dans les réalités concrètes des personnes. Sophia souhaite mettre ses compétences au service de la mission d’EPBC et contribuer à des initiatives ayant un impact tangible sur l’accès à la justice. Elle sera coordonnatrice de programme pour l’été et pour l’année scolaire 2026-2027.

Doria Altawil est étudiante au baccalauréat en droit à l’Université de Sherbrooke et entamera sa troisième année à l’automne 2026. Durant son parcours, elle a eu le plaisir de s’impliquer comme bénévole au sein de Pro Bono, où elle a contribué à un projet en droit de la famille visant à vulgariser et rendre l’information juridique plus accessible aux personnes qui en ont besoin. Son implication reflète son intérêt pour l’accès à la justice et pour le rôle du droit dans la vie des personnes. Souhaitant poursuivre cet engagement, elle sera coordonnatrice du programme EPBC pour l’année scolaire 2026-2027. Elle souhaite ainsi soutenir les étudiants dans leur implication et contribuer à rendre le droit plus accessible en contribuant avec les organismes communautaires.

Camille est à sa année au baccalauréat en droit à l’Université Laval, après avoir complété un baccalauréat en psychologie. Sensibilisée très tôt aux inégalités sociales, elle s’est engagée dans le milieu communautaire dès son adolescence. Elle se démarque par sa détermination et son dynamisme dans les projets à vocation sociale. Les inégalités d’accès à la justice sont au cœur de ses intérêts et elle souhaite y consacrer sa future pratique professionnelle. C’est ce qui l’a menée à s’impliquer auprès d’EPBC en tant que coordinatrice, pour un deuxième mandat, dans l’objectif de contribuer à une justice plus accessible et équitable.

Archelery Lesly a 24 ans et elle est une étudiante de troisième année dans le programme de Juris-Doctor et MBA de l’université de Moncton. Cela fait maintenant 7 ans qu’elle vie au Canada. Lesly a gradué d’un baccalauréat en administration des affaires, spécialité Gestion Internationale à l’université de Moncton. Elle est originaire de la Martinique qui est un département français. La Martinique est une île qui se situe dans les Caraïbes. Elle est une étudiante dynamique et rigoureuse. Elle aime écouter de la musique et faire du sport.

Bianca is an incoming 2L law student at the University of New Brunswick. She became interested in access to justice during her undergraduate studies in psychology, where she developed a strong interest in the social and systemic barriers many people face. She is especially passionate about mental health advocacy and animal rights. Bianca’s main legal interests include family law, as well as human rights and constitutional law. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her dog Lupo and oil painting.
